Person Centred Care

We are dedicated to providing person centred care, as advocated by “My home life Age Cymru”, and aim to work as a close knit team in our caring, homely environment. We encourage our trained staff to get to know our clients well, learn about their life history, their preferences and choices.
A bibliography of the client is compiled as part of the moving in process, where we talk at length about the client’s needs, interests, favourite foods and so on, which helps the staff to gain a clear and detailed view of every resident.
We encourage family participation in all events and have an open invitation to offer helpful comments about the service we provide in the belief that an open approach is in the best interest of our clients. In this sense we continually strive to improve everything in the home. We hope our home will always be part of the local community so that the residents feel this is not the end but a new start with positive outcomes and an enjoyable life.
We take great care when recruiting staff to ensure they have the right caring disposition, as well as the required CIW QCF entry requirements and mandatory training. Staff training is ongoing throughout the year which enables them to keep up to date with new legislation, changes in care standards and good practice.
We specialise in dementia care where staff are specifically trained to deal with clients with these care needs. We work closely with local health team specialists and are highly regarded as a dementia care provider, being PE2 registered with CIW.
It is very important that people with dementia are treated with respect. We feel it is important that a person with dementia is still a unique and valuable person and often finds that they feel vulnerable and in need of reassurance and support. By preserving dignity, promoting life enrichment and respecting independence, we feel we can create a real sense of home.
